(Old building) Network connection with Ubuntu 14.04+

Following instructions are for setting up a fixed connections on devices running Ubuntu 14.04 and later.

- Plug the computer into a power outlet and turn WiFi off.

- In the system tray, click Network Manager.

- Click Edit Connections.

- In the Network Connections window, click the connection you want to use for the LAN network. It's usually in the Ethernet section and is called something like Wired Connection or Auto Ethernet. Click the Edit button.

- Click on the 802.1x Security tab and set the following values:

  • Use 802.1x security for this connection: checked
  • Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
  • Anonymous Identity: -
  • CA certificate: No CA certificate is required
  • PEAP version: Automatic
  • Internal authentication: MSCHAPv2
  • Username: login (same as in AIS)
  • Password: password generated in SSO (More information on how to create a login password to connect to the network can be found at the end of the instructions.)

- Click Save/Apply to save the settings. Your computer should now connect to the network. If it doesn't, try disconnecting and reconnecting the network cable or contact support.
